What is at stake in Serbia, on the pages read for this hub, is two different offices. The National Assembly election was held on 25 October 2026. The Republic Electoral Commission has published a preliminary count. Final results are the total report RIK publishes in the Official Gazette. Seats are not shown on this site until RIK assigns them. Separately, a presidential election is required after Aleksandar Vučić’s resignation, and no presidential polling day has been called. The latest day stated by RTS and by the RIK chair is 27 December 2026. That is a deadline, not a date this site has chosen.
How the presidency passes, on the Government notice of 28 September 2026, is that Vučić resigned the night before and that day handed the duty to Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly, who serves as acting president until a new president is elected. The notice says that under the Law on the President the Speaker acts for not more than three months and must call the election so that voting is no later than three months after the term ends. Article 14 says the term ends when the resignation is received by the National Assembly. RTS, on 27 September 2026, reported article 10 of the Law on the Election of the President: from the day the election is called to polling day, not fewer than 30 days and not more than 60 days. If no candidate wins more than half of the valid votes, that law provides a second round within 15 days. RIK had not published a candidacy or a polling day when these pages were read on 27 October 2026.
How the Assembly is elected, on RIK’s page about National Assembly elections, is a national vote for lists. Lists below three percent win seats only if RIK confirms national-minority status, as that page describes. This preview does not restate the whole allocation formula. The preliminary figures below are RIK’s, as of 10:25 Belgrade time on 26 October 2026, when 8,135 of 8,392 polling stations had been processed. RIK labels them preliminary. Percentages are of voters who voted, as RIK shows them. They are not a sample and not a forecast.
The lists RIK showed above 0.6 percent that morning were Studentska lista – Studenti pobeđuju with 2,246,423 votes, 52.65 percent; Aleksandar Vučić – Ujedinjena Srbija with 1,673,241 votes, 39.22 percent; Ivica Dačić – Faktor stabilnosti with 92,532 votes, 2.17 percent; Autentična desnica at 0.90 percent; the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, a minority list, at 0.81 percent; and an Albanian coalition, a minority list, at 0.65 percent. RIK’s preliminary totals were 6,451,292 registered voters, 4,269,403 who voted (68.81 percent), 4,211,697 valid ballots, and 55,107 invalid ballots. Other lists are on the RIK page. Vote totals for the three smaller shares were not copied here.
Those list names are the names RIK printed. They are the public labels of the lists that stood. A programme is the text a list publishes itself. This preview does not rewrite one, does not say what a list will do in the Assembly, and does not assign seats the Commission has not assigned. The presidential contest has no candidate list on this site for the same reason: RIK has not published one. This site prints no voting-intention figure for the presidential election, whenever it is called. RIK content is licensed CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 RS. The figures above are a reading of the public results page, not a substitute for the Official Gazette.

How Serbian National Assembly elections work
This section is drawn from Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) pages read on 26 October 2026. RIK’s results for 25 October 2026 are preliminary.
The National Assembly
RIK’s page on National Assembly elections says 250 members are elected from Serbia as a single constituency, by proportional representation on electoral lists. Seats are divided by the largest-quotient (D’Hondt) method among lists that receive at least 3% of the votes of those who voted. Lists with national-minority status take part below 3%, with their quotients increased by 35%.
Voting and the count
The same page says polling stations open at 07:00 and close at 20:00, and that each voter chooses one list. RIK publishes the total report of results in the Official Gazette within 96 hours of receiving all local summary reports, and assigns seats within ten days after that. Until then, the RIK results page shows a preliminary count.
